It is our experience that marine diesel engine major spare parts needs to be calibrated on a regular basis and at time of undertaking routine maintenance and overhaul. The periodical inspection of the parts is recommended to avoid any major breakdown of the diesel engine and not to delay in the movement of the vessel. The normal day-to-day maintenance of the diesel engine and troubleshooting is done by the engineers on board the vessel but there are various maintenance tasks which require specialized services and cannot be executed by marine engineers on board the vessel as a routine.
