Engine Overhauling

Rarely does a standby generator engine accumulate enough operating hours to be eligible for the manufacturer's scheduled maintenance programme. Even when the engine is not running, warm coolant is constantly being pumped through it by the engine heaters. This may result in worn seals and O-rings in the cooling circuits, depending on the type of engine, which necessitates planned maintenance or overhauls be carried out to maintain engine health.
